About The Sports Astrologer:Hi! I'm Ken Hopkins and this is what I hope to be a major contribution to the advancement and acceptance of astrology by the mainstream public. Since 1971, I have been researching astrology and sports in various capacities. Through the years I researched the Moon and Mercury in all betting line games since 1972 for all NFL and all division 1-A college football teams. Eight years ago I decided that the Moon was not as good of a tool for the way I structured my research as Mercury was. After logging all beginning game positions for the Moon and Mercury and organizing them by sign in numerical order, it was clear to me that Mercury was the better predictor. I will share what I have discovered with you here on this site. In March of this year, Darrell Harris, the Dean at NorthStar College in Arizona gave me a copy of my natal chart. But the chart was unlike any I had ever seen because it was a secondary progression in graphic form for 80 years from my birth August 10, 1947. The graph displayed the progressed moon traveling in a wave from the top of the chart to the bottom in 14 years and then back to the top. What blew me away was the timing of events that corresponded to the years when the moon intersected other planets. These intersections were actually progressed parallels to the natal and progressed planetary declinations. Since then I have been experiencing my second "astrology-hood" and learning with the same intensity and passion that I possessed when I began my astrology study in this life in 1971 with Astrology Dynamics in Orlando, Florida under the auspices of an Aries visionary named Phyllis Schlemmer. With the declinations I have rekindled an acquaintance with astrologer, Leigh Westin from another place and another time where she opened a door for me in 1974 that led to teaching astrology at community colleges in Spokane, Washington. Twenty-nine years later Leigh has a new door called declinations that is open wide enough to send Jupiter through! In 1977 I was asked to predict the season for then basketball coach George Raveling at Washington State. The synopsis was printed in the Basketball press guide that year. Since March of this year, I have begun applying the declination study to sports and I have found so many reflective trends of team and individual performances, I'm ready to SHOUT the findings to the world! I hope to share many of my discoveries with astrologers, sports fans and the media alike and that is the purpose of this website. I invite you to participate in the forum and if you would like to go on a journey of discovery with the sports astrologer. I hope to have all of the first game charts of all teams in the respective databases. The first game can be interpreted as the "birth" of the team as an entity, much like the first trade chart resonates for a corporation's stock fortunes or misfortunes. I firmly believe that declinations offer one of the most reliable tools for prediction. Sports is the largest living laboratory available for astrological research. Even if you're not a sports fan, you can certainly see how astrology works in a field where you can have the results overnight or in a few months. The next step is to convert what affects athletes to people in other professions and life expressions. I will use the Arizona Diamondbacks as an example for the team declination example and Tiger Woods for the individual example. Enjoy! |
