Barack Obama Had the benefit of a progressed Moon to natal Sun contra-parallel. Look for contra-parallels to generate much magnetism and "electric" energy. That energy was working April-June and that was the period in which he wrapped up the nomination delegates. The election period also holds some interesting energy as the progressed Venus parallels the natal north node degree. More later.

Mitt Romney: He also has the progressed Moon coming from a southern extreme. Natal positions of Venus and Jupiter will be paralleled by the progressed Moon as we near the last half of 2008. When we get his exact birth time, we can be more precise. It's possible that about the time of the Republican nominating convention, Romney will have a progressed Moon-parallel natal South Node which could hold some destiny-like energy. He has the declination dynamics to be the running mate.

John McCain: was the only candidate of the top four who did not have a progressed Moon going into or coming out of a progressed lunar extreme. He does have the progressed Moon changing hemispheres which may explain the energy shift he has experienced in his campaign from holding on by a thread to major momentum heading into 2008. After the conventions, we'll give you a peak at the declinations for the election day compared to the candidates.

The hit with natal and progressed Saturn by the progressed Moon could coincide with the death of her son on January 10, 2007. Steve Irwin also had a visit from the progressed Moon to Uranus when he made his transition. There is more that can be looked at and time will tell if there was foul play, a lethal combination of drugs or something else. The progressed Moon is in Aries and natal Uranus in Virgo. The declination reveals an event that might be missed by traditional astrology.

Nancy Pelosi March 26, 1940 Baltimore, Md. The House Minority leader is riding a progressed Moon to natal Jupiter parallel into the end of 2006 and beginning of 2007. Then...the progressed Moon will form a likel-to-be-sobering parallel with natal Saturn toward October 1st. In 2008 the progressed Moon forms parallels with progressed Jupiter and Saturn. Talk about push-pull, expand-contract. It will be interesting to watch how these energies manifest. Will the influences be primarily professional, physical or a combination of both.

Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter met his fate at the tail of a sting ray. He was born Feb 22, 1962 in Essendon, a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It looks as though the energy of the progressed Moon forming a parallel with Uranus colored the event considerably. Some reports are pointing toward a 1:00 am birth time. When I looked at his graphic chart the first time I used the usual 12 noon chart when the actual birth time is unknown. The progressed Moon was hitting the natal and progressed Uranus declinations and if the birth were earlier in the day, the timing would coincide exactly with his transition from the physical plane. I left the next paragraph basically as it was written to illustrate how declinations may be used as an aid to rectification.

Below is a 2-year graph starting Jan 1, 2005. I believe that some rectification can be done using the secondary progressed graphic chart. This is what the timing would look like for a birth near 12pm local time. It would coincide with the progressed moon forming a parallel with natal progressed Uranus. Also this year there is a hit on progressed Venus and the natal declination of Uranus. Definitely a lot of energy to unfold in one year. I have found the Moon hitting Venus not to be all that great in certain charts coinciding with death of a son in one and the onset of debilitating migraine headaches in another. Perhaps we will be given Irwin's exact birth time and it shed further light on things. May he rest in peace.

The most fascinating feature of the secondary progressed chart is that the progressed Moon is at it's northern extreme the last half of this year. Interesting to note that the Moon is within minutes of an exact parallel with Pluto, the ruler of nuclear energy! The planets and energy points are the south node, Uranus along with Pluto. With the Moon hitting a parallel with Uranus in 2008, and a visit to the south node declination at the end of 2007 and beginning of 2008. The Uranus influence would seem to coincide with the unstable personality that is being portrayed in the news. Uranus could also indicate some sudden events in his life.

Hot News: Say it Ain't So, Mel!

Early Friday morning, July 20th, Mel Gibson was pulled over in the "traffic stop heard 'round the world". What's going on astrologically? Glad you asked. As we view the graphic chart, the most noticeable feature is the progressed path of the Moon. 2003-2004 marks the northern extreme motion of the Moon which often coincides with professional peaks. It seems like Mel had something in production that much of the world is still discussing. Checking the 2006 movement we see an intersection or parallel with the progressed MC. The MC in astrology is often associated with career and profession, honor/dishonor and lots of public opinion. I would suggest to you what is probably the obvious, that this event is likely connected with a public scowl of sorts. Other parallels this year(look down the 2006 column) and you will see the Progressed Sun hitting Neptune toward the end of the year. Most of us know that Neptune rules alcohol and it's ills. Also we see that progressed Mercury and Progressed Saturn are hugging at about 18 degrees South setting up a progressed contra-parallel with the Moon. There's more going on as the North Node and Vertex are parallel as well. A lot of things are "coming home to roost" this year.

Looking ahead to 2007 we see the progressed Moon having quick parallels with progressed Jupiter, the progressed ascendant and then natal Jupiter. With the ascendant representing Mel's personal expression and physical self. I suspect Mr. Gibson is one who can fall into a manure pile and arise smelling like a dozen roses! Jupiter is busy in his world and can be tied to the alcohol, rehab, and a even the movies being a traditional ruler of Pisces.
